The School Day

Before School

The school gates open at 8.45am for entry into the school, and children should immediately make their way to their classroom under the supervision of the member of staff on duty.  Parents whose children arrive earlier than 8.45am must ensure that their children are looked after as the school is not responsible for them until this time.

We ask parents to make sure their child is in school on time. You should notify the office as soon as possible if your child is going to be late. If you arrive with your child after 8.55am, please use the front door to bring them into school.

If your child is unable to attend school please let the office know by using the ‘child absence’ option on the answer machine. You should phone every day that they are ill and send a letter to the class teacher on the day they return.

Collection from School

Parents or carers are welcome to collect their child from the rear playground.

Parents should notify the school office if they are going to be late to collect their child. Your child will be asked to wait outside the school office for collection. Please make sure you notify the office or a member of staff once you have collected your child. A member of staff will contact you if your child hasn’t been collected by 3.30pm. If you cannot be reached, the school will contact the other adults on your child’s personal details, where possible.  If we are unable to make contact and your child has still not been collected then your child will be placed in the After School Club and a charge of £7 will be made to you.

If your normal collection arrangements change due to unforeseen circumstances or a play date, please inform the school BEFORE THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY.  As a school we understand that these arrangements may change but due to safeguarding procedures we are unable to release a child to another adult without prior notification.
