Food and Drink at SMCS

Hot lunches are currently provided free of charge for all of KS1 children and are available at a cost for KS2.

Hot Meals are provided by a company called Chartwells and orders can be made via an account on Parent Pay.

Please note that all food orders must be made via Parentpay by 10pm on Tuesday to take effect from the following Monday.  Please note that late orders cannot be accepted, if you miss the deadline please supply your child with a packed lunch.

As the meals are provided by Chartwells, in the event of any problems please contact their Customer Care line on 01908 615705.

If your child has a packed lunch these will be stored on a class trolley until lunchtime.  You may like to include an ice pack in your child's lunchbox to keep the food cool.  Please also ensure that all lunchboxes are clearly labelled with your child's name.

In order to promote healthy eating we ask that fizzy drinks, sweets, and chocolate bars are not included in lunchboxes.  As we are a nut free school we also ask that nuts or food items containing nuts are not included either.

In order to make you aware of what your child is (or is not) eating, we ask children to put leftovers back into their box, with the exception of foods that are likely to make a mess such as half finished yoghurts.

Children may bring the following snacks to eat at morning break: fruit, vegetables.  We are that parents do not send in any items containing chocolate, nuts or sweets.

We encourage children to drink water throughout the day.  We would like all children to have a named water bottle, a clear plastic bottle is ideal this should be taken home daily to be washed.  During the day the water can be refilled either by a tap in the class room or the water cooler situated in the school hall.

Teachers will explain to their classes what the arrangements are for drinking water during lesson time.
